Nikki Haley is Making Waves

The message of true conservative reform is rippling it’s way across South Carolina. This new wave of idealism has brought in a young generation of civic leaders who are the rising stars of the political scene. Among them stands gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley, whose profound impact on our state has caused her to gain national attention and acclaim.

In a recent issue of “Time” magazine, Nikki Haley was named as being one of the top 40 political leaders in the nation during this election cycle (click here to see the article). The article focused on the top “40 under 40” in American politics, and labeled her as being a “rising star”.

The impact that Nikki has already had on South Carolina is profound and significant. As the article stated, this historic win proved that the insider culture of Southern politics “is no match for a charismatic conservative newcomer who promises to shake things up in the Palmetto State”.

In a question and answer section of the spotlight on Nikki, she gave the following answers:

“Who is your political hero/inspiration?

Margaret Thatcher.

What’s your go-to political blog?

Redstate.

If you weren’t working in politics, what would you be doing?

I’d be back to my roots in small business.

What’s the most overlooked issue facing America these days?

Understanding that tax dollars don’t belong to government, that people pay this money in and how elected officials spend it matters.

Where do you see yourself professionally in five years?

Continuing to remind people the power of their voice and that elected officials work for the people, not the other way around.”

The striking significance of Nikki Haley’s campaign for governor was not just noticed by “Time” magazine. A few weeks ago, noted columnist and political insider George Will made a comment on how Haley’s campaign reveals the level of progress that South Carolina has made over the years.

After examining Haley’s primary win, George Will stated, “If the question is which state has changed most in the last half-century, the answer might be California. But if the question is which state has changed most for the better, the answer might be South Carolina.”

Let’s be sure that we keep South Carolina on the road to progress this November. With the political tide turning toward conservative solutions, we can be sure that Nikki Haley is not just riding the waves- she’s doing a good job of making them herself.
