This below resolution was passed at the Florence county convention, and will now go to the resolutions committee. If the resolutions committee passes it, the resolution will be up for a vote at the state convention. However, before the resolutions committee votes, they want to know your opinion. Whereas Lieutenant Governor James Kenneth Ard, a resident of Florence County and member of the Florence County Republican Party, was elected to the office of South Carolina Lieutenant Governor on November 2, 2010; and

Whereas since his election Lieutenant Governor Ard has supported needed election reforms, economic development, spending limits for state government, and has promoted the Republican party platform and ideals; and

Whereas Lieutenant Governor Ard was the first Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina to be born in Florence County; and

Whereas Lieutenant Governor Ard is to be commended for his efforts to advance business issues at the state house and promoting importance of improving South Carolina’s business climate; and

Whereas Lieutenant Governor Ard has over the last two years assisted and supported the revitalization of the Florence County Republican Party and Florence County Republican Women’s Club; and

Whereas Lieutenant Governor Ard studies the issues facing the people of South Carolina and provides amicable solutions to said issues.

Now, therefore, be it resolved the Florence County Republican Party offers its heartfelt appreciation to Lieutenant Governor Ard for his dedication to the Florence County Republican Party, the people of Florence county and the state of South Carolina; and

Be it further resolved that the Florence County Republican Party honors Lieutenant Governor Ard for his service in Florence County representing District2 on the Florence County Council; and

Be it further resolved that the Florence County Republican Party applauds Lieutenant Governor Ard’s efforts to assist Senior Citizens through the Lieutenants Governor’s office On Aging; and

Be it further resolved that the Florence County Republican Party hereby supports Lieutenant Governor Ard’s efforts to pursue economic development opportunities for the cities and counties of the state of South Carolina; and

Be it further resolved that the Florence County Republican Party expresses its hope that Lieutenant Governor James Kenneth Ard will continue to serve this party and the State of South Carolina for many years to come.
