Whereas Obamacare imposes significant new Medicaid costs on states and constitutes a major federal usurpation of long-standing state authority in regulating private insurance; and

Whereas, twenty-six State Attorneys General have filed suits to protect their citizens from being forced, in violation of the Constitution, to purchase government-approved health insurance.

Whereas, the key to real health care reform is to give control of the health care system to patients and their health care providers, not bureaucrats in government or business; and

Whereas, the return of control of health care to patients and providers will benefit small business employers and employees alike;

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Aiken County Republican Party strongly urges the repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (commonly referred to as Obamacare).
