The S.C. Women’s Leadership Council, made up of the eight female Republican members of the S.C. General Assembly, serves to support South Carolina’s future leaders by providing partial college scholarships.

The Republican Woman of Achievement Award honors the significant contributions of their time and effort in support of good government to be presented each year to the female who best embodies the highest principles of leadership based on honor, graciousness and courage.

“Whether it’s been as the leader of our Party, a business owner, or as a public servant, Karen Floyd has both been a success and served as an incredible example for other women,” said Rep. Jenny Horne, Chair of the Women’s Leadership Council. “In a state where far too few women are involved in the political process, Karen has shown that not only can women play an important role, but they can lead at the highest levels. We congratulate Karen on all of her success, and know that she will continue to excel in her every endeavor.”
