Critical Election Integrity Bill, H. 4919, passes S.C. House Second Reading

(Columbia, S.C.) – This afternoon, common-sense election integrity bill, H.4919, passed second reading in the S.C. House. See below for South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Drew McKissick’s full statement:

“We’re pleased H.4919, a common-sense election integrity bill, passed second reading in the S.C. House,” said SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick. “South Carolina has better election law than other states, but we still have room to improve. In addition to other strong reforms, this bill requires the last four digits of the voter’s Social Security number associated with a mail-in absentee ballot. If you have to show your ID when you vote in person, you should also have to prove you are who you saw you are if voting by vote mail-in absentee. We hope the S.C. Senate will pass it quickly and send it to the Governor’s desk before the upcoming election.”
