SCGOP wins top honors for Web site

Columbia, SC – April 9, 2010 – The South Carolina Republican Party today was named the best Web site among Republican Parties across the southeast by the Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC).

Launched in February of this year, the SCGOP Web site – www.sc.gop – is a state-of-the-art Web site featuring unparalleled connectivity to numerous Web applications and social networking sites, including Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and You Tube. The innovative design also includes a scrolling video display across the page masthead, and a blog with
constantly updated content.

“When I ran for Chairman, I said that Republicans had to stop ceding the areas of technology and the internet to the Democrats, and that we were committed to outworking them not only at the polls and campaign trail, but on the Web as well,” Floyd said. “This recognition by the SRLC is an acknowledgment that we are making good on that promise, and I believe we not only have the best Web presence in the southeast, but in the country as well. Finally, I give all the credit in the world for this honor to Wesley Donehue, the state party’s Director of Technology and New Media. This award is a testament to all of his hard work in getting this Web site online well ahead of schedule.”
