SCGOP Announces 2012 Presidential Debate
Today, South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Chad Connelly announced that the South Carolina Republican Party and Fox News will host a “First in the South” Presidential Primary debate on January 16, 2012 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
In announcing the debate, Chairman Connelly said, “South Carolina Republicans pick Presidents. The State Party is proud to partner with Fox News to facilitate this important debate just five days before our historic Presidential Primary.”

On the Road With Chairman Connelly
SCGOP Chairman Chad Connelly has been, in the words of the Willie Nelson song, “On the Road Again.” In the past ten days, Chairman Connelly has traveled over 2,431 miles. Those miles include:
- Over 30 donor meetings
- Leading a State Executive Committee Meeting
- Teaching a leadership class
- Seven Presidential Debate planning meetings
- A donor luncheon
- A Presidential Primary Taskforce meeting
- Giving two tours of the U.S. Capitol
- Meeting with Senators Graham and DeMint
- Working the SCGOP booth at the State Fair
- Speaking to three county GOP meetings, a Republican Women’s meeting, and a meeting of small business owners

SC Federation of Republican Women President Betty Poe Elected National Third Vice President
On October 2nd, 2011, Betty Poe was elected as the Third Vice President of the National Federation of Republican Women.
Mrs. Poe, who also serves as Chairwoman of the Greenville County Republican Party, is the outgoing President of the South Carolina Federation of Republican Women.
Mrs. Poe was honored for her achievements at the SCGOP Quarterly Executive Commitee Meeting on October 15, 2011 where she was presented with a framed South Carolina print by Chairman Connelly.
Chairman Connelly said, “at the National Convention in Kansas City, the delegates to the National Federation of Republican Women Convention saw the hard work and leadership that Betty provides in South Carolina and decided they’d like to have her on their national leadership.” Congratulations Mrs. Betty!
SCGOP Expands Donors Base: Raises Money From Over 700 Contributions in the Third Quarter
This past quarter, the South Carolina Republican Party continued to actively build its donor base. The State Party raised an average of $209.84 from over 700 contributions!
