The overwhelming majority of South Carolina Republicans voted “YES” when asked if they support changing our state law to ensure that in a situation where multiple people in a lawsuit are responsible for paying damages, then each person should pay damages based on that person’s actual share of fault. Currently, our state law allows for business owners and people with the deepest pockets to be on the hook even if they’re not responsible for the incident.
