Press Release: Matt Moore re-elected as SCGOP Chairman


Columbia, S.C. — At today’s biennial South Carolina Republican Party State Convention, Matt Moore of Lexington County was re-elected as the state party’s Chairman. Moore won 83.1% of the vote over Mark Powell of Anderson County. Moore, 33, is America’s second-youngest state Republican Party chairman.

“I’m honored by the overwhelming support of our state convention. Thank you delegates for the trust you’ve placed in me,” said Chairman Moore.

“Together, our work continues to build an innovative, modern Republican Party. Working hand in hand with our Republican county leaders, activists, and elected officials, we stand together- committed to strong Republican leadership in South Carolina. I look forward to getting back to work on Monday.”
