South Carolina Senate Majority Leader Harvey Peeler released the following statement today following SCGOP Chairman Karen Floyd’s announcement that she will not seek re-election: “On behalf of South Carolina’s Republican State Senators, I want to thank Karen Floyd for her service to our state and our party. She didn’t just win this cycle. She beat our friends across the aisle into submission. She pushed our party more to its conservative roots, built bridges with the Tea Party movement, made our party more diverse and technologically advanced and she helped keep our vital First in the South status. Karen Floyd spoke briefly with the president of The South Carolina Federation of Republican Women’s Greenwood chapter, Ann Hancock. Ann and Karen shared their enthusiasm concerning the GOP Sweep of South Carolina. Ann also mentioned that on October 29, 2010 Nikki Haley would be visiting Greenwood on a bus tour; she also mentioned her club’s commitment to the upcoming election. Support from organizations, such as this chapter of the South Carolina Federation of Republican Women, will help make this hope of the GOP Sweep become a reality come November 2nd!
