Lexington Resolution: Nuclear Safety

This below resolution was passed at the Lexington county convention, and will now go to the resolutions committee. If the resolutions committee passes it, the resolution will be up for a vote at the state convention. However, before the resolutions committee votes, they want to know your opinion. Whereas, the recent tragedy and threat of radiation in Japan has been raised to equal that of Chernobyl (1986), and with my experience in hearing evidence of Chernobyl, form my Russian student, in their personal stories, and with my long time interest as a Republican and enlightened citizen of the great State of South Carolina, I move that the Chief Executive Office of South Carolina, Governor Nikki Haley, move expeditiously in examining the safety features of all South Carolina nuclear institutions. Additionally, it is also moves that governor Haley, and the Legislature, move with dispatch to explore alternative sources of energy like solar, wind, and water which can provide a better margin of safety for all our citizens.
