The Spartanburg County Republican Party acknowledges that to be fiscally responsible during the current budget shortfall, and while maintaining current contractual obligations, Congress must not raise the tax rate on any level, but strive to reduce spending, and eliminate duplicative departments, programs, and services, to balance the budget.

To that end, any governmental services that can be outsourced should be.  This would free the entrepreneurial spirit that America is founded on, and immediately the private sector would impact employment and thus grow the economy.  To further these objectives, all but reconstruction and repairs on existing government facilities should be halted until the time the deficit is eliminated.

We acknowledge these truths to as self evident today as they were when the founding fathers sat down over two centuries ago.  They did not have to explain to each other why when it grows dark you light a candle, they just ignited a flame.  That flame has burned bright for not only our Mothers and Fathers, but has pierced the darkness for the world.  Once again, open your eyes and see the possibilities of our greatness, the greatness that is the United States of America.
