S.C. Democratic Party leader arrested, SCDP website scrubbed

South Carolina Democratic Party executive committeeman Christopher Lykes was arrested today on charges of stealing personal information from over 228,000 South Carolinians.

“Christopher Lykes, 36, of Swansea was arrested Thursday and charged with five counts of violating medical confidentiality laws and one count of disclosure of confidential information, according to SLED. Lykes also is a former member of the executive committee of the Lexington County Democratic organization.”

But Chris Lykes is no “former” member. Chris Lykes’ name was scrubbed from the South Carolina Democratic Party’s website in just the past few hours.

“The South Carolina Democratic Party thinks they can pull the wool over the public’s eyes. Dick Harpootlian and his cronies need to immediately condemn Chris Lykes’ behavior and apologize to honest, hard-working South Carolinians,” said Matt Moore, SCGOP executive director.
