Former Trump Administration Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is 54th Silver Elephant Gala Guest Speaker

(Columbia, S.C.) – On Friday, July 30, the South Carolina Republican Party is hosting its 54th Annual Silver Elephant Gala, the longest standing GOP event in state history.

With great excitement, the SCGOP is pleased to announce staunch conservative and former Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo as the guest speaker.

“Secretary Pompeo is an excellent champion for our conservative cause, and has proven that here at home and on the world stage,” said SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick. “We look forward to welcoming him to the Palmetto State, hearing his story, and celebrating past and future Republican successes.”

The Silver Elephant Gala will be at full capacity this year. This is a members only event.

About Secretary Pompeo:

Michael R. Pompeo served as the 70th Secretary of State of the United States, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and was elected to four terms in Congress representing Kansas’ 4th District.

Secretary Pompeo graduated first in his class at the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1986 and served as a cavalry officer patrolling the Iron Curtain. He rose to the rank of Captain, and went on to graduate from Harvard Law School.

Before serving in Congress, he spent a decade leading two manufacturing businesses in South Central Kansas. Mike Pompeo is married to his wife, Susan — with whom he taught 5th grade Sunday school for many years — and has one son, Nick.
