SCGOP to host inaugural First in the South Republican Action Conference in October

(Columbia, S.C.) – The South Carolina Republican Party is hosting its inaugural First in the South Republican Action Conference in Myrtle Beach this October to underline and emphasize the importance South Carolina plays in the presidential primary timeline.

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) style conference will be a place for potential Republican 2024 presidential candidates, Party leaders, and elected officials to meet South Carolina activists and be introduced to the Palmetto State.

Throughout the weekend, attendees will hear from guest speakers and participate in various trainings. Working alongside the Republican National Committee, the SCGOP will host field trainings geared toward younger volunteers who want to help Get Out the Vote efforts, primarily with the SCGOP’s Victory program for the 2022 midterms. The Leadership Institute will also conduct grassroots trainings and breakout sessions.

“South Carolina’s first in the south position is not something we take lightly. It’s important to us and important to our voters,” said SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick. “We’re looking forward to hosting this conference, getting folks excited and prepared for the upcoming election cycles, and reminding everyone you can’t make it to the White House without stopping in South Carolina.”

Attendees will hear from speakers in general session format, panels, and breakout sessions that will cover a wide range of topics, including election integrity, rule of law, women in politics, and minority outreach.

The First in the South Republican Action Conference will be October 29-31 and will be a biennial conference. All but one of the Republican nominees for president have won South Carolina.

More details regarding confirmed speakers and ticket purchases to follow.
