Columbia, South Carolina. – South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Drew McKissick released the following statement regarding tonight’s Democrat debate in Detroit: “The Democrats in Detroit tonight made it clear that they will do a good job fighting for socialism and illegal immigrants but not everyday South Carolinians. While President Trump works to create better trade deals, a strong military and a booming economy, 2020 Democrats are aligned on decriminalizing border crossings, raising taxes and destroying private health insurance.” – SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick

Fellow Republican, It was a weekend to remember! A combined 2,500+ Republicans descended on Columbia for the 48th Annual Silver Elephant Dinner and State Convention. We heard from many South Carolina elected officials and possible Presidential candidates. Awards were given and State Party officers were elected. But above all else, we hope every guest enjoyed the festivities and left impressed with our State Party’s dedication to excellence. Thank you to each and every person who made the weekend possible! At Saturday’s State Convention, delegates elected the State Party’s new officers. Congratulations to these hard-working Republicans: State Chairman – Matt Moore
North Charleston, S.C. – South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Matt Moore issued the following statement tonight following Governor Haley’s gubernatorial debate victory: “Tonight’s debate was a resounding victory for Governor Nikki Haley. Governor Haley is the only candidate with a clear, conservative record of results and a positive vision for South Carolina,” said SCGOP Chairman Matt Moore. “Vincent Sheheen’s mud-slinging debate performance, coupled with his full-on embrace of President Obama’s failed policies, shows why his campaign is failing and he’s the wrong choice for South Carolina.” ###
We’ve got some great news out of Aiken County. Our Red to the Roots strategy is working! Earlier today, Aiken County Councilwoman Kathy Rawls left the Democratic Party and joined the Republican Party! Councilwoman Rawls has served since 1988. In her remarks today she said, “The Democratic Party left me when they became more and more liberal, no longer reflecting my values and beliefs.” I couldn’t have said it better myself. South Carolina Democrats are out of touch with South Carolina values. They’ll stop at nothing to infringe on our liberties and cede every family’s decisions to Washington. Please take
