SCGOP Statement on Tega Cay Police Memorial and Religious Freedom

Columbia, South Carolina. – South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Drew McKissick released the following statement regarding the Tega Cay Police Memorial: “I was appalled to see the City of Tega Cay originally cave into radical liberals who use the threat of lawsuits to wipe out religious expressions from American public life. Simply put, the Supreme Court continues to affirm that these displays are completely constitutional. Not only should the monument not have been changed or removed, it should never have been controversial in the first place.” “Unfortunately, it’s just the latest sad episode in the ongoing liberal assault against public expressions of faith as well

ICYMI: Greenwood Index-Journal: McKissick: Trump economy continues to boom for South Carolinians

I wanted to flag the latest op-ed by Chairman McKissick that was published in the Greenwood Index- Journal about the success of the Trump economy here in South Carolina. Since President Trump’s election, South Carolina has added over 95,000 new jobs and is at the lowest unemployment rate in history. While 2020 Democrats like Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden want to reverse this success in favor of more government, it’s clear that the people of South Carolina want nothing to do with that reckless agenda. In Case You Missed It… Trump economy continues to boom for South Carolinians Greenwood Index- Journal Op-Ed:

Columbia, South Carolina. – South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Drew McKissick released the following statement regarding Mark Sanford’s possible vanity project. “The last time Mark Sanford had an idea this dumb, it killed his Governorship. This makes about as much sense as that trip up the Appalachian trail.” – SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick

ICYMI: Democratic candidates aren’t listening to voters in South Carolina

Post and Courier Op-Ed Cindy Costa July 4, 2019 https://www.postandcourier.com/opinion/commentary/commentary-democratic-candidates-aren-t-listening-to-voters-in-south/article_9248afee-9da8-11e9-a88e-b3ab6fbec6b2.html Last week, all South Carolinians who tuned into the Democratic debates got to see just how out of step today’s Democratic Party has become. As 20 radical candidates duked it out in hopes of standing out from the masses and landing just one zinger, their embrace of the extreme left took center stage. The 20 contenders have all endorsed an agenda too radical and reckless for South Carolina. On issues of health care, climate change, immigration, late-term abortion, the economy and more, today’s Democratic Party has gone completely off the

Happy 4th of July from the SCGOP

Happy 4th of July from the SCGOP! Across our country, “We the People” come together to celebrate our nation’s birthday. In 1776, after signing the Declaration of Independence, John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail that this act should long be celebrated with great fanfare. “I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from

SCGOP Statement on SCOTUS Ruling

Columbia, South Carolina. – South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Drew McKissick released the following statement regarding today’s Supreme Court ruling: “Unlike what liberals suggest, politics does not have a place in the courtroom. Today’s ruling is a clear win for constitutionalism and keeping the judiciary out of politics, and politics out of the judiciary. While Democrats will continue to try and win in court because they can’t win at the ballot box, I agree with the majority opinion which stated that the solution does not lie ‘with the federal judiciary.’” – SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick ###

Lights, Camera, Socialism- Part 2

Columbia, South Carolina. – South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Drew McKissick released the following statement regarding the second night of Democrat debates in Miami: “Night number two of the clown show is here as the Democrats take the stage again to discuss their radical socialist ideas. From abolishing ICE, to increasing taxes, and endorsing a government takeover of healthcare, it’s clear that the people of South Carolina won’t be supporting what the Democrats are selling.”  ###

Lights, Camera, Socialism- Part 1

Columbia, SC.- As the first wave of 2020 Democrats take the debate stage, South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Drew McKissick released the following statement: “Tonight’s 2020 Democrat debate is a prime example of what the people of South Carolina rejected in 2016- bigger, more expensive government and radical cultural liberalism. South Carolinians are not going to buy into their extreme, socialist agenda of government-run healthcare, climate change schemes, open borders and taxpayer funded abortion. President Trump has lifted our nation to unprecedented new heights and will continue to do so when he’s re-elected in 2020.” -SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick
