A Week Full of Events

This week is monumental for the South Carolina Republican Party. It will be a time to celebrate the enormous 2010 election victories, as well as organize for the upcoming fight to take back the US Senate and the Whitehouse. If last year is any indication, we are deadly serious about achieving these goals. The first event this week is the Resolutions Committee meeting, which is scheduled to occur at 6:00pm in Blue Marlin’s Vista room. The resolutions that pass will then become part of our Party’s official agenda, so this meeting certainly deserves your close attention. The highly anticipated presidential

The Fuel of Our Movement

Every organization, regardless of size or purpose, needs to possess a clear and focused agenda. While the people serve as the engine that diligently turns the gears and spins the wheels, the agenda is the fuel that provides the combustion and energy needed to propel us down the road and toward our goal. Today at 6:00pm in Blue Marlin’s Vista Room, we will form this agenda. The Resolutions Committee will observe and vote on the county resolutions that were provided last month. Defining a clear agenda that everyone can understand and support is key to winning next year’s elections. With

An Important Message From Congressman Wilson on Extreme Liberal Elitism

At this point it is difficult to keep up with the number of times the Obama administration has trampled over our states’ rights. Perhaps the President and his appointees have not read the Constitution they have promised to uphold. This Constitution is what empowers the federal government. However, the Obama administration repeatedly disregards this and enforces their own belief that the federal government has a stranglehold on states. Out-of-control spending, the government takeover of our health care system, and foreign policies that have increased costs at the gas tank have killed any ability for an economic recovery. As if all

NLRB Action Against Boeing Should End

It’s hard enough to grow businesses and create jobs in this economy, but Barack Obama and his allies at the National Labor Relations Board are pursuing a complaint against Boeing, which last year established its Dreamliner jet facility in North Charleston. It’s shocking that as forward-thinking states get their economy going again, the federal government is stepping in to stop it. What really happened was that in Washington State, the machinists’ union was doing a lot less work on planes and aircraft equipment, and a lot more complaining about Boeing. So, when the company went looking for a place to

Join Us for the 44th Annual Silver Elephant Banquet

The Annual Silver Elephant Banquet is a special occasion that we greatly anticipate each year. Traditionally, a single keynote speaker is featured at the event, who is chosen for his or her history of championing the core beliefs of our conservative movement. But why should we limit ourselves to one such person? In an election year that is sure to write the future of our country’s great story, it is important that we elect someone who thoroughly understands and protects its prologue – the divinely inspired constitution. In order to become educated on who best fits this important criteria, the

We Have to Raise the Debt Ceiling Because Bush Lowered Taxes?

By John Cox I constantly hear the president blaming the Bush tax cuts (and everything else besides his own actions) for our current deficits today. Is there any truth to that? The media will have you believe that the Bush tax cuts were mostly for the wealthy and that because of them, the rich aren’t paying their fair share. That sounds plausible, doesn’t it? Let’s examine a few facts first. The Bush tax cuts were enacted in 2001 and 2003. Together they lowered the effective individual income tax rates for most taxpayers and were phased in over three years 2001, 2002
